Hello everyone! I wanted to take a blog to talk to you all about your hopes and dreams. I love writing books for kids and I have to say, books for kids are all about hopes and dreams! When I was a kid I had a big dream pretty much every week. I wanted to be a naturalist for the longest time. I had visions of myself finding unique animals in deep, dark forests. I, of course, wanted to be an archeologist for the longest time too. More visions of having a house covered in all kinds of dinosaur fossils. I wanted to write books and comic books. I wanted to design toys and I wanted to get a job playing with toys. I never wanted to be a doctor though…something about performing surgeries just never appealed to me. I wanted to be a great artist and have entire museum wings dedicated to my art. There was a time I wanted to learn all about carpentry, and plumbing, and electrical work so I could build my own castle. One of the big things I loved (and still love) is reading. I remember when I was in elementary school and I’d be reading the latest Piers Anthony or Isaac Asimov book and the other kids (and even teachers) would ask what class I was reading that book for. When I said I was reading it for fun they’d look at me like something was wrong. I wonder what they’d think if I told them my dad would sit in a rocking chair in the attic giggling while he worked on advanced calculus problems for fun…
So what have you been dreaming about? What did you dream about as a child? How has it changed from what you are doing now? Or did you do it? Did you always dream of being a doctor and now you’re a doctor? If you achieved your dream is it everything you hoped it would be or is it even better? As for me I have to say my life is amazing! I have a beautiful wife and four wonderful kids! My wife and I have gotten published multiple times and we’re working on several more new books that I’m very excited about! Well, I look forward to hearing from everyone and I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day. Bye for now.
