Hello everyone, do you remember driving around town (any town because I think every town had it) and seeing a pair of old shoes dangling from the power lines? Or you’d see some birds just sitting on the lines? I’ve seen it several times in my childhood and a few times nowadays as well. But what’s the strangest thing everyone has seen? For me, the strangest thing that I’ve seen is the Christmas Banana of 2020.

That’s right, one day near Christmas my wife, children and I were walking out of our house when what did we see?

A Christmas Banana dangling from powerlines up above the trees!

The children were enthralled by it. They had no idea how it got up there or why it was up there. The spot it was at was more than 20 feet off the ground so somebody would have had to get a huge ladder, cut the banana practically in half, and then dangle it there by one flap of peel. I suppose a squirrel or bird could have dropped it…for some reason? Or maybe it was aliens! No clue, we didn’t see anyone and it seems like a very strange hobby to go around doing that kind of thing…

Then one day, we went out to laugh at the Christmas banana again (we did that for like a week straight) and…it was gone. Just as mysteriously as it had appeared. There was nothing on the ground, it was just not there anymore. If I hadn’t taken a picture of it, I would have thought the entire thing was a hallucination. But here’s the picture:

So there you have it. That’s the strangest thing that I’ve ever seen on a powerline. What about the rest of you? Has anyone else seen a banana? Is there a serial high wire fruit leaver out there somewhere? Or have you seen something even stranger?
